Guide for FiveM server owners
GTA 6 Features You Can Already Add to Your FiveM Server
GTA 6 is not out yet, but a lot of what Rockstar has shown can already be built on a GTA V FiveM server. Here is what is realistic, what is not, and where to start.
GTA 6 (GTA VI) is the most anticipated game in years, and roleplay players are already asking server owners the same question: "When does our server get that?" The honest answer is that you can’t run GTA 6 on FiveM. FiveM is a multiplayer platform for GTA V. But a surprising amount of what Rockstar has shown so far is not engine magic. It is design. And design you can build today.
This guide goes through the ideas people associate with GTA 6, splits them into what you can add now and what you can’t, and points to the kind of scripts and settings that get you closest. Everything here runs on GTA V FiveM. Nothing here is official GTA 6 content, and we are not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Cfx.re.
First, what we actually know about GTA 6
Keep this part short and factual, because rumours spread fast in roleplay Discords.
- Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 is set in the state of Leonida, with a modern Vice City as its main city.
- The two trailers show two lead characters, Jason and Lucia, a crowded coastline, swamps and small towns, and a lot of social media style footage.
- Rockstar has announced a release date of 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Release dates have moved before, so check Rockstar’s own site before you plan anything around it.
- Rockstar has not said anything about FiveM, roleplay servers or PC mods for GTA 6. Anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing.
That last point matters. If you are planning your server, plan it for GTA V FiveM. That is where your players are today, and it is the only platform you can build on.
What you can add today
A world that feels busy
The trailers are full of people: beaches, traffic, crowds outside clubs. GTA V can do more of this than most servers allow. Many servers turn ped and traffic density down to save performance, and the city ends up feeling empty.
What you can do:
- Tune population density per area instead of globally. Keep the beach and the strip busy, and thin out the places nobody roleplays in.
- Use scenario peds. GTA V has hundreds of built-in scenarios (smoking, leaning, fishing, drinking coffee) that make a street look lived in at a low cost.
- Place static NPCs where roleplay happens: shop clerks, bouncers, dock workers. Our guide on living NPCs and AI in FiveM roleplay goes deeper, and our FiveM NPC script lets players talk to any pedestrian.
Watch the cost. More peds means more work for every client. Test with the resource monitor before and after, as described in FiveM resmon basics.
Social media in the game
Social feeds are all over the GTA 6 trailers. On a roleplay server this is one of the easiest ideas to copy, because players already live on their in-game phones. A phone resource with a social app, a news app and a camera covers most of it. The key is moderation: an in-game feed on a busy server needs rules, reporting and someone who reads the reports.
A cleaner, more modern HUD
We have not seen much of a GTA 6 HUD, because the trailers are mostly cinematic. What people mean by "GTA 6 style" is usually a visual language: Vice City colours, sunset gradients, bold condensed type, less clutter on screen. You can build that with a custom HUD resource. Our FiveM HUD guide covers the design rules that make a HUD feel modern without hurting performance. Ours is the GTA 6 style HUD for FiveM.
Vice City mood
GTA V does not have Vice City. It does have a coastline, palm trees, beaches and a strong weather and time system. With a synced weather script, a sensible default time of day, the right lighting settings and some custom map work, Los Santos can carry a lot of the mood. Our Vice City vibe checklist lists the concrete steps.
Two-person stories
The trailers are built around a pair. Roleplay servers can lean into that with duo jobs, shared stashes, shared vehicles and heists that need two people. None of it needs new tech. It needs scripts that treat a crew or a pair as a first-class thing instead of a solo player with friends.
Crime that feels planned, not grinded
Heists that take preparation, scouting and roles are a better fit for roleplay than a button you press every 30 minutes. If you choose crime scripts, favour ones with cooldowns per group, police requirements and steps that create scenes for other players.
What you can’t add (and should not promise)
Being clear about this protects your reputation with players.
- The GTA 6 map. You can’t legally put Leonida or the GTA 6 Vice City on a FiveM server. It is not released, and even after release it is Rockstar’s content. Ripped assets from any game break Cfx.re’s platform rules and can get a server removed.
- GTA 6 characters, vehicles or logos. Same reason. You can build your own brands with a similar mood. You can’t copy theirs.
- Engine features. New physics, new animation systems or new lighting technology can’t be bolted onto GTA V with a script.
- "GTA 6 FiveM" as a product. It does not exist. If you see a server or script sold as GTA 6 content, treat it with suspicion.
A good line for your server’s Discord: "GTA 6 inspired, built on GTA V FiveM." It is true, and players respect it.
Where to start: a short plan
If you want your server to feel closer to GTA 6 in the next month, do it in this order. Each step is cheap to test and easy to undo.
- Fix the basics. A stable framework, a working inventory, a clean server.cfg. If you are unsure, our guide on the best QBCore and QBox setup for a GTA 6 style server walks through a baseline.
- Set the mood. Weather, time, lighting and a few map touches. This changes how every screenshot of your server looks.
- Replace the HUD. Players look at it all the time. It is the fastest visible change.
- Add life. Scenario peds, placed NPCs and tuned density in the areas where people roleplay.
- Add one system that creates stories. A duo job, a planned heist, a social app. One well-run system beats five half-finished ones.
After each step, check performance and ask players what they noticed. If nobody noticed, it probably was not worth the resmon.
Choosing scripts for a GTA 6 inspired server
A few questions to ask before you buy any script, from us or anyone else:
- Does it run on my framework? Look for clear support notes for QBCore, QBox or ESX, not just "compatible with all". You can browse ours by framework: QBCore scripts, QBox scripts and ESX scripts.
- Can I read and change the code? A GTA 6 style often means changing colours, text and timings. That is hard with escrowed code. Our article on escrow vs open source FiveM scripts explains the trade-off.
- What does it cost at idle? Ask for a resmon number, or test it yourself on a copy of your server.
- Who answers when it breaks? Look for a support page and a changelog, not only a Discord invite.
If you want to see how we build things before paying, start with the free scripts. They use the same code style as the paid ones. Every GTA 6 inspired script we make is on one page: GTA 6 style scripts for FiveM. The full catalog is under FiveM scripts, and bundles group scripts that work together.
What to do when GTA 6 comes out
Nobody outside Rockstar knows what GTA 6 will mean for FiveM. It is sensible to assume your GTA V server keeps running as it does today, and that your community is what carries over, not your resources. Keep your player base, your rules and your stories documented. Those are the things you would bring to any new platform.
When the release date gets close, re-check Rockstar’s announcements yourself. Do not rely on screenshots in Discord.
Questions
Can I play GTA 6 on FiveM?
No. FiveM is a multiplayer platform for GTA V. GTA 6 is a separate game that is not released yet, and Rockstar has not announced anything about FiveM support for it.
Are GTA 6 scripts for FiveM real?
Scripts can be inspired by GTA 6, like ours, but they run on GTA V. There is no official GTA 6 content for FiveM. Be careful with anything sold as the real thing.
Can I use the GTA 6 map or cars on my server?
No. They are Rockstar's content and are not released. Using ripped assets from any game breaks Cfx.re's platform rules and can get a server taken down.
What is the fastest way to make my server feel more like GTA 6?
Change what players see all the time: the HUD, the weather and time of day, and how busy the streets feel. Then add one system that creates stories, such as a duo job or a planned heist.
When is GTA 6 coming out?
Rockstar has announced 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Dates can change, so check Rockstar's official site for the current status.
